(with expert guidance from phil bond) ahead of the meeting and was sent by hazel wright (district councillor - studley with sambourne) to the pcc. notes were taken at the meeting by the studley clerk. although these were available to anyone requesting them there was an initial insistence that they are not placed in the public domain. eventually, after public pressure and common sense prevailed, the notes were allowed to be made public . -- progress to superfast broadband in sambourne details of the progress achieved by sambourne broadband action group can be seen following the "organisations" tab at the head of this page. 2nd october 2018 csw replied to a progress request sent on the 1st. they said the last update that we had from openreach at working group last wednesday was that the civils had been completed and they were hoping to get the cabinet lit over the weekend with the intention of customers being able to order a service by mid-october. 31st august 2018 at long last we actually have dates at last - but will they keep to them? csw replied to a progress request sent on the 22nd. they said we had our fortnightly working group meeting with openreach on wednesday where they told us that they now have dates for the civil engineering works which need to take place. if memory serves me right, i think this involves a road closure or partial road closure and is due to take place between 15th and 28th september. there will still need to be some more work done after this takes place and the expected completion date that they are working towards is mid-october. we will obviously keep asking for updates on this at the working group meetings that take place towards the end of september and as soon as we have any further information, we will of course be in touch 22nd june 2018 a request to our mp - nadhim zahawi - received the following reply i have written to open reach to say the situation has gone on for too long and to seek assurances the work will happen this time. i am very sorry constituents have had to put up with these delays and missed deadlines. i will be in touch when i have had a response. 17th june 2018 csw replied to a progress request sent on the 13th. they said at the working group meeting last week openreach stated that they had been awaiting a quote from a supplier for the full width reinstatement that would be required after they have done what they need to do with the road. this has now been received and the costs have been agreed and openreach are now awaiting a date for - presumably the road closure - for them to be able to start this work. 13th june 2018 reply from dept for digital, culture media & sport. dcms said in relation to studley 15, bt have advised that…. [they] are awaiting a quote for full-width reinstatement so costs can be evaluated.” while we can understand that the lack of time-scale is a frustrating situation, we can confirm that csw have multiple actions that can be used to keep bt/openreach in check to ensure that targets are hit as soon as possible. note how they use bt and openreach interchangeably although we are told they are separate companies! 27th april 2018 csw replied to a progress request sent on the 27th. (because of this further delay, contact has been made with the stratford herald.) csw said from what i understand, i think that there have been a number of unforeseen civil engineering delays which has resulted in the late delivery of the completion of this structure. they told us in the meeting on wednesday that light is due to be delivered to this cabinet by 30th april. it then takes a couple of weeks (i think that they have to do a number of checks etc) before it is ready for service. they are expecting everything to be completed by the middle of may. due to the fact that there have been a number of delays incurred already on this, i have told you the end of may just to manage expectations. during their presentation at the meeting, openreach showed us a list of structures that have recently gone live and also a list of structures that are due to go live within the next month and studley 15 is listed within that list. we will obviously continue to monitor the situation over the next couple of weeks 16th april 2018 csw replied to a progress request sent on the 13th. csw said i fully appreciate your frustration. we have a meeting with the senior openreach project managers for our sub-region a week on wednesday (april 25th) and i will ask them for an update then. as part of that, i will also mention how residents are getting increasingly frustrated at the lack of progress and how deadlines continue to be extended and try and find out for you, once and for all when work is expected to be completed. 23rd march 2018 csw replied to a progress request sent on the 11th. csw said apologies for not getting back to you before now. i have had some updates from the senior openreach project manager for our area regarding the delayed structures. there are still some civil engineering issues to be resolved with regard to the studley 15 upgrade and the expected completion date is now the beginning of may 2018. 9th february 2018 csw replied to a progress request sent on the 8th. csw said thank you for the email and apologies for not getting back to you before now. i got the information on wednesday but i have been snowed under and so i am only getting around to filling people in with the updates today. apparently it is the section 58 that is causing the delay with regards to the civil engineering work which needs to be done. however, the senior project manager for openreach did go on to say that the expected completion date for this upgrade is before the end of march 2018. 1st february 2018 unsolicited update from csw regarding the meeting with open reach on 31/1/18 csw said ...still awaiting updates for you all regarding delayed upgrades to various cabinets / structures. we normally have a working group meeting with project managers from openreach who are working specifically in our area once a fortnight. unfortunately, this wednesday's meeting was cancelled as a number of people were unable to attend for various reasons. i have emailed your concerns to the senior openreach project manager for our area but he is on annual leave this week and will be returning early next week. i will hopefully get a reply by the middle of next week and will respond to you all individually as soon as i have some news for you regarding the upgrades in your area. please accept my apologies for the further delay but as i said, i should hopefully have some answers next week. 26th january 2018 csw were asked when the connection to the east of sambourne was scheduled - after several delays. their prompt reply said csw are having a catch-up meeting with openreach next wednesday when we will ask for an update on all the delayed structures including studley 15, which will serve the middletown lane area of sambourne. studley 15 is the green cabinet on the verge almost opposite aldi in studley. 17th november 2017 csw were asked whether a revised target date was available from the meeting with open reach on the 9th november - see below. they replied open reach have found a section 58 requirement on this which they are in progress of getting costs quoted. when they have this they can then start the work. they said that they would like t
